Trainee Registration 2024: NBEMS Allows Submission of Joining Report and Self-Appraisal Form at OPJR

Trainee Registration 2024: The individuals who have pursued the Broad Specialty courses (Post MBBS DNB, Post MBBS Diploma and Post Diploma DNB) in the academic year of 2024 are required to update their Joining status at the Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR).

This consists of all candidates who have joined the seats allotted to them by MCC/NBEMS. In-service candidates joining the in-service quota seats and sponsored candidates joining the sponsored seats are also required to update their joining status at OPJR.

Steps involved for completion of Joining and Self-Appraisal at OPJR:

Seats Allotted by MCC(DNB/Diploma) and NBEMS (Post Diploma DNB and Sponsored seats):

• Step 1: Completion of Joining Formalities at OPJR by the trainee.
• Step 2: Submission of Joining report by the concerned hospital by uploading the Annexure-A (Joining Report).
• Step 3: Submission of Self-Appraisal by the Trainee.
• Step 4: Verification of Self-Appraisal by the concerned hospital.

Seats Allotted by the State Govt./Railways/PSUs/ESIC for in-service doctors (in-service Quota DNB seats):

• Step 1: Submission of allotment details at OPJR by the hospital.
• Step 2: Completion of Joining Formalities at OPJR by the trainee.
• Step 3: Submission of Joining report by the concerned hospital by uploading the Annexure-A (Joining Report).
• Step 4: Submission of Self-Appraisal by the Trainee.
• Step 5: Verification of Self-Appraisal by the concerned hospital.

This self-appraisal is necessary for checking the eligibility of individuals for registration with NBEMS as trainees as per the eligibility criteria stated in the concerned information bulletin, ensuring their joining at the NBEMS-accredited hospital.

It is mandatory for the hospitals to ensure that all trainees satisfy the eligibility criteria as stated in the information bulletin. The accredited hospital is instructed to carefully verify the trainees’ self-appraisal on the OPJR. The hospital must also examine the original documents to determine eligibility. Any hospital that approves or forwards false or fabricated records, information, or documents in an attempt to register a candidate as a trainee will be subject to appropriate action, as mentioned in the accreditation agreement’s terms and conditions.

The trainee will be issued a “Letter of Provisional Registration” by NBEMS, after the successful submission of the joining report and verification of the self-appraisal by the hospital.

From 25th March 2025, the OPJR will be live. The trainees and the hospitals are required to follow the below-listed timeline:

The candidate must begin their NBEMS training within the designated reporting period for their respective round of counselling. The hospital will not grant any extension to the joining date without NBEMS approval. Candidates who choose to upgrade must start their training from the date they join the upgraded seat. If the same NBEMS seat is allotted after opting for an upgrade, training will only begin from the date of joining that seat, following the announcement of the upgrade result.
