Qualification and Experience for UPSC Recruitment 2024:

Candidates must have the required qualifications and experience for applying to UPSC Recruitment 2024 as given below-

For Scientist-B (Mechanical)-

• The applicant must have a Master’s Degree in Physics from a recognized University/ Institute. And
• The applicant must have 01 years of practical experience in the testing/ calibration of engineering materials/ products or in precision measurement/ metrology in a recognised Laboratory/ Institute. OR
• The applicant must have a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering/ Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute. And
• The applicant must have Two years of practical experience in the testing/ calibration of engineering materials/ products or in precision measurements/ metrology in a recognized Laboratory/ Institute.

Desirable-

• The applicant must have Research and Development experience in testing of engineering materials and metrology/ calibration of instruments and machines.

For Anthropologist (Physical Anthropology Division)-

• The applicant must have a Master’s degree in Anthropology of a recognized University with more than fifty per cent papers in Physical Anthropology or Biological Anthropology in the final year examination.

Experience-

• The applicant must have Three years of research experience in Anthropology.

For Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Anaesthesiology)-

• The applicant must have recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holder of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
• The applicant must have a Post-graduate Degree in the concerned Speciality or Super-speciality mentioned in SectionA of Schedule VI from a recognized teaching institute i.e., Doctor of Medicine (Anaesthesiology); or Master of Surgery (Anaesthesiology) or Diplomate National Board (Anaesthesiology).

Experience-

• The applicant must have at least three years’ teaching experience as a Senior Resident or Tutor or Demonstrator or Registrar or Assistant Professor or Lecturer in the concerned Speciality or Super-speciality in a recognized teaching institution after obtaining the first Post-graduate degree.

The selection of UPSC Recruitment 2024 will be determined on the basis of a Recruitment Test (RT) followed by an interview. The category-wise minimum level of suitability in interviews, irrespective of whether the selection is made only by interview or by Recruitment Test followed by interview, will be UR/EWS-50 marks, OBC-45 marks, SC/ST/PwBD-40 marks, out of the total marks of interview being 100.
