UPSC is recruiting desirous candidates for the post of Scientist-B (Mechanical, Anthropologist, Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Anaesthesiology), Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Cardio Vascular and Thoracic Surgery), Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Neonatology), Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Neurology), Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Obstetrics and Gynaecology), Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Assistant Executive Engineer, Scientist ‘B’ (Civil Engineering), Scientist ‘B’ (Electronics /Instrumentation) and Assistant Director (Safety). There are 147 openings to be filled for UPSC Recruitment 2024.

The required qualifications and experience to apply for UPSC Recruitment 2024 are described below-

For Scientist-B (Mechanical)-

• The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Physics from a recognized University/ Institute. And
• The applicant must have 01 years of practical experience in the testing/ calibration of engineering materials/ products or in precision measurement/ metrology in a recognised Laboratory/ Institute. OR
• The candidate should have a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering/ Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute. And
• The candidate should have Two years of practical experience in the testing/ calibration of engineering materials/ products or in precision measurements/ metrology in a recognized Laboratory/ Institute.

Desirable-

• The candidate should have Research and Development experience in testing of engineering materials and metrology/ calibration of instruments and machines.

For Anthropologist (Physical Anthropology Division)-

• The candidate should have a Master’s degree in Anthropology of a recognized University with more than fifty per cent papers in Physical Anthropology or Biological Anthropology in the final year examination.

Experience-

• The candidate should have Three years of research experience in Anthropology.

For Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Anaesthesiology)-

• The candidate should have recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holder of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
• The candidate should have a Post-graduate Degree in the concerned Speciality or Super-speciality mentioned in SectionA of Schedule VI from a recognized teaching institute i.e., Doctor of Medicine (Anaesthesiology); or Master of Surgery (Anaesthesiology) or Diplomate National Board (Anaesthesiology).

Experience-

• The candidate should have at least three years’ teaching experience as a Senior Resident or Tutor or Demonstrator or Registrar or Assistant Professor or Lecturer in the concerned Speciality or Super-speciality in a recognized teaching institution after obtaining the first Post-graduate degree.

For Assistant Executive Engineer-

• The candidate should have a bachelor’s Degree in Drilling or Mining or Mechanical or Electrical or Civil Engineering or Agricultural Engineering or Petroleum Technology from a recognized University or Institute.

Experience-

• The candidate should have Two years of experience in the operation or maintenance and repair of different types of Drilling Rigs or construction of different types of Tube wells or Ground Water Development and Management.

For Scientist ‘B’ (Civil Engineering)-

• The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Experience–

• The candidate should possess three years’ experience in Civil Engineering.

Selection Process for UPSC Recruitment 2024:

The Recruitment Test (RT) followed by an interview will be used to select the candidates for UPSC Recruitment 2024. The category-wise minimum level of suitability in interviews, irrespective of whether the selection is made only by interview or by Recruitment Test followed by interview, will be UR/EWS-50 marks, OBC-45 marks, SC/ST/PwBD-40 marks, out of the total marks of interview being 100.
