UPSC Recruitment 2025: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is accepting applications for the Civil Service Examination from eligible and interested individuals. There are 979 vacant positions, including 38 for people with benchmark disabilities, which includes 12 for blind and low vision candidates, 7 for deaf and hard of hearing candidates, and 10 for locomotor disabilities, which include cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy, and 9 for multiple disabilities among people under clauses that include deaf-blindness. Candidates applying for the opportunity mentioned above may apply if they hold a graduation degree from an accredited university or an equivalent credential. The applicants must be at least 21 years old and not more than 32 years old to be considered for the position.

In reference to the official notification of UPSC Recruitment 2025, an interview/personality test and a civil services examination will be used to choose the candidates  (see below). Candidates have to pay Rs.100 as an application fee. The Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates are not required to pay the application fee. The application fee will be paid in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using the net banking facility of any Bank, or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit card/UPI Payment. Candidates can obtain their admit card by visiting UPSC’s official website. The tests will take place in several locations across India. Candidates must submit their online applications via UPSC’s official website by the closing date, which is after the official UPSC Recruitment 2025 notification. Once the deadline has passed, no applications will be accepted by the committee.

Qualification Required for UPSC Recruitment 2025:

In order to apply for UPSC Recruitment 2025, the required qualifications need to be fulfilled by the candidates –

  • A Graduation degree from an accredited university or an equivalent credential should be held by the candidate.
  • Students in their final year or those awaiting results may apply for the UPSC Prelims as long as they produce documentation of their exam success prior to applying for the Mains.
  • Medical students who have finished their final year of MBBS but have not yet completed their internship may also apply, but they must include a course completion certificate from the appropriate authority with their Mains application. Candidates with professional or technical qualifications that the government recognises as being equivalent to a degree are also eligible.

The following lists the upper-age relaxation for reserved categories –

  • SC/ST category: Up to 5 years
  • OBC category: Up to 3 years

Application Fee for UPSC Recruitment 2025:

The application fee is Rs.100 to complete the application procedure for UPSC Recruitment 2025. The Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of the fee. The applicant fee will be paid in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using the net banking facility of any Bank or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit card/UPI Payment.

  • Candidates who opt for the “Pay by Cash” mode should print the system-generated Pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of the SBI Branch on the next working day only.
  • “Pay by Cash” mode will be deactivated at 11:59 P.M. of 10.02.2025  i.e. one day before the closing date; however applicants, who have generated their Pay-in-Slip before it is deactivated, may pay at the counter of the SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date.
  • Such applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date i.e. during banking hours at SBI Branch, for reasons whatsoever, even if holding a valid pay-in-slip will have no other offline option but to opt for available online Debit/Credit Card/UPI Payment or Internet Banking payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 6:00 PM of 11.02.2025.

Selection Process for UPSC Recruitment 2025:

According to the official notification of UPSC Recruitment 2025, The Civil Services Examination comprises two successive stages:

  1. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Civil Services (Main) Examination; and
  2. Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview/Personality Test) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts.

This examination is meant to serve as a screening test only; the marks obtained in the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Civil Services Examination preliminary exam on May 25, 2025. Candidates will receive admit cards later informing them of the exam day, time, and location. The UPSC’s official website is where candidates can obtain their admission cards.

Applicants who meet the requirements and would like to apply for UPSC Recruitment 2025 may apply online at UPSC’s official website by the deadline. The committee will not accept applications submitted in any other way or beyond the deadline fixed by the committee.
