Young CA Loses her Life in Bengaluru Stampede
Two young women tragically lost their lives in a stampede during a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricket team celebration event on Wednesday. The victims were CA Akshatha Pai from Mulki near Mangaluru and 19-year-old Chinmayi Shetty from Tippasandra, Bengaluru.
Akshatha Pai was a Chartered Accountant in Bengaluru and had won a gold medal in her CA exams. Her father, Amrith Pai owns a shop near Shree Venkatramana Temple in Mulki. She had married an engineer named Ashay just one and a half years ago.
The couple was trying to enter through Gate Number 17 when the stampede happened. In all the confusion and pushing, Akshatha got separated from her husband. While Ashay managed to get to safety, Akshatha sadly died in the crowd. Her husband later identified her body by recognizing the RCB jersey she was wearing.
Chinmayi Shetty was a 19-year-old engineering student at Jyoti Engineering College on Kanakapura Road in Bengaluru. She was not only talented in her studies but also adored the art of Yakshagana, a traditional dance-drama performing form. She was part of the group ‘Yakshataranga Bengaluru’ and was also an accomplished basketball player.
The Yakshataranga Bengaluru group expressed their deep sadness about losing such a talented young person. They said her death has left her family, friends, and everyone in the Yakshagana community heartbroken. They prayed for her soul to rest in peace and asked God to give her parents and loved ones the strength to cope with this terrible loss.
