10% Duty on Import of Chana from 1 April by Govt [Read Notification] The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has imposed 10% duty on imports of chana from 1st April via issuing a notification. The Notification Read as Follows: In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) read with section 124 of the Finance Act, 2021 (13 of 2021) and section 110 of the Finance Act, 2018 (13 of 2018), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby further amends the following notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table below, to the extent specified in the corresponding entries in column (3) of the said Table, namely: This notification shall come into force from the 1st day of April, 2025.
