The provisional payroll data of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) reveals that 17.28 lakh new employees have been added in the month of October, 2023.

In October 2023, approximately 23,468 new establishments were registered and placed within the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation’s social security program, resulting in increased coverage.

Data clearly shows that the country’s youth have gained more employment opportunities, as 8.25 lakh new employees, or 47.76% of the total number of employees, are under the age of 25, making up the majority of the 17.28 lakh new employees added in October 2023.

Payroll data analyzed by gender shows that in October 2023, there were 3.31 lakh female members enrolled overall. According to the data, in October 2023, 51 transgender employees registered under the ESI scheme as well. It demonstrates ESIC’s dedication to provide benefits to all societal segments.

The payroll data is provisional since the data generation is a continuous exercise.
