17000+ Job Vacancies: 17,625 Posts Vacant in Food and Consumer Affairs Ministry

The administration notified Parliament on Tuesday that up to 17,625 positions, including institutions, agencies, and autonomous bodies, are unfilled within the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, the Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, stated in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha that there were 45,915 permanent and 19 temporary positions under the Ministry in 2014, including positions in institutions, agencies, and autonomous bodies.

She noted that as of 2024, there were 48,555 permanent and 8 temporary positions held by the Ministry, including positions in institutions, organizations, and autonomous entities.

In the previous five years, no one has had a job after leaving the military. 17,625 positions inside the Ministry, including those in institutions, agencies, and independent entities, are open, according to the minister.
