180 Cr Drug Syndicate busted by Custom Officials The Custom Officials busted the Rs.180 Crore Drug Syndicate. The officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Chennai, in a meticulously planned operation, seized 36 kgs of Methamphetamine drug worth around Rs. 180 crores at Madurai Railway Station and Chennai Kondungaiyur dump yard. The seizure was the result of hard surveillance by the DRI, with assistance from RPF personnel. Earlier, DRI seized 28 lakhs of Peacock tail feathers worth Rs.2.01 Crore at Nhava Sheva Port. In an anti-smuggling operation, the DRI Mumbai Zonal Unit seized approximately 28 lakh peacock tail feathers that were being smuggled from India to China via concealment and misdeclaration in an export cargo declared as “Door Mat made up of coir” through Nhava Sheva port.
