The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Customs Department at Madurai Airport on specific intelligence report has recovered 2 packets of gold paste concealed by a passenger in the lavatory of an aircraft that arrived from Dubai to Madurai on 21.05.2023.
Gold of 1565 grams worth of Rs.96.18 Lakh seized. Passenger who were smuggling the gold in paste form arrested by the custom officials.
