4 more FIRs Against chartered accountants, company secretaries, & directors for alleged fraud under the Companies Act
The Economic Offences Wing has filed four new FIRs for alleged fraud under the Companies Act against seven Chinese nationals, several chartered accountants, company secretaries, and directors of Indian companies.
The complaints, filed by the registrar of companies in Mumbai, claimed that laws governing the registration of new companies were broken when foreigners were appointed as directors in Indian firms.
So far, 38 FIRs have been filed, and 160 people, including 67 foreigners, have been named as suspects. 47 of the foreigners are Chinese, with the rest coming from the United Kingdom, Taiwan, the United States, Singapore, Cyprus, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
