5 GST Officials arrested in case of GST Refund claim using Fake Documents
The Central Crime Station ( CCS ) of the Hyderabad police has done a significant crackdown in matter of GST Refund claim using Fake Documents by arresting 5 GST Officials. These officers also include a Deputy Commissioner arrested for a scheme to illegal claim GST refunds.
The police revealed that these officers, in collaboration with fraudulent electric bike manufacturing units have taken FAKE GST Registration using forged electricity bills from property owners and Rent Agreements.
They along with tax consultant Chirag Sharma generated fabricated invoices, E-way bills and Invoices for Input Tax Credit, in name of these Non-Existant Entities. These documents were used to claim GST Refund by bribing these GST Officers.
The accused, Vinardh Automobiles, filed GST returns and claimed a refund of 23.78 crores causing wrongful loss to the government.
Further inquiry is on its way.
