Engagement of Media Advisor on contract in IEPF Authority

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs invited application for Media Advisor on contract basis in IEPF Authority.

The IEPF Authority is accepting applications for one position of Media Advisor. The Companies Act of 2013 mandates the Authority to promote investor education, awareness, and protection, among other things.

The IEPF Authority, as part of its role, undertakes various investor awareness efforts from time to time. A Media Advisor will be hired solely on a contract basis by the Authority to handle media-related tasks. The following are the eligibility criteria, duties, and experience requirements:

Duties and responsibilities:

Examining, advising, and assisting in the preparation/ development of investor awareness and protection communication materials, such as advertisements, pamphlets, posters, jingles, awareness videos, and messages on the subject for platforms such as electronic, print, social, and outdoor media, etc., in accordance with current Gol policies.

Preparation and implementation of media strategy, preparation of press briefing materials, and handling of electronic, print, social, and outdoor media, among other things.

Suggestions for expanding the reach of awareness and protection programmes should be made, and such programmes should be implemented. In addition, to coordinate with other organisations and agencies in order to carry out the IEPF mandate through various activities.

Implementing IEPFA and Ministry of Corporate Affairs media and other initiatives, including those linked to Amrit Mahotsav, EoDB, and other projects as delegated from time to time.

Eligibility:

Essential Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in mass communication, journalism, or media is required. Persons having a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication/ Journalism and a Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in Mass Communication/ Journalism from a recognised Institute/College/University are also eligible to apply.

Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, Photoshop, Corel Software, and other similar programmes, as well as solid typing abilities.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the government, autonomous entities, or public sector handling media, coordinating media campaigns and awareness programmes, and/or related activities.

Other eligibility criteria for the post are as follows:

The maximum age limit for working as a Media Advisor is 60. He or she should be able to handle tasks independently, including file processing, material/information collection, and so on.

Good communication skills and command of the English and Hindi languages are required. It would be preferable if you could communicate in more than one language.

In their prior organisation, they should not have had any disciplinary issues.

The engagement for the aforementioned role is only on a contract basis for one year, with a consolidated price ranging from Rs. 70,000/- to Rs. 1,00,000/- including conveyance, depending on the candidate’s expertise and profile.

The person so engaged would be ineligible for any further benefits or allowances.

Period of engagement:

The Media Advisor’s contract would be for a one-year period at first. Based on good performance, the engagement might be extended for another year up to three years after the first year.

This would be a full-time position, and he or she would not be allowed to take on any other work throughout the duration of the engagement.

This Media Advisor appointment is of a temporary (non-official) nature and is not intended to entitle the engaged person to regular work with the IEPF Authority.

On a pro-rata basis, the Media advisor is entitled to one day of leave per completed month or a total of 12 days in a calendar year. There will be no remuneration for any time spent away from work that exceeds the permissible leave. It is not permitted to accumulate leave beyond the calendar year.

Procedure for selection:

A properly constituted Committee would be in charge of selecting the Media Advisor. The Media Advisor would be obliged to appear before the Committee for interaction and to give a presentation.

Working Hours:

Working hours are from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on weekdays; but, due to the nature of his or her job, he or she may be asked to stay late in the office and may be called on Saturday, Sunday, or other holidays to perform time-sensitive tasks. The Media Advisor must report to a senior officer in the IEPF Authority, such as a DGM/AGM/AD.
