53 Airports associated with Krishi UDAN Scheme; Know this Scheme and Benefits
The Modi government has launched a large drive to assist farmers in getting their crops to every nook and cranny of the country in the Covid Pandemic. Kisan Special Trains were used at first under this scheme. Fruits, vegetables, milk, and other basic things are distributed around the country as a result of this. Following this, the government implemented the Udan Scheme (Ude Desh ka Aam Aadmi), which connected the airports. The Krishi Udan Scheme was then launched in order to transport farmers’ crops through this channel.
VK Singh, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, stated that this scheme is linked to 53 airports. This program will be implemented in August 2020. It also operates on an international route in addition to the domestic route. Farmers use this to transport their produce from one location to another. As a result, they are obtaining a good price for their produce.
Krishi UDAN 2.0was announced in October 2021. It was mostly concerned with carrying perishable produce from hilly areas, north-eastern states, and tribal territories.
Mainly this scheme covers 25 airports in North-Eastern region, Hilly and Tribal area like Agartala, Agatti, Barapani, Dehradun, Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Gaggal, Imphal, Jammu, Jorhat, Kullu (Bhuntar), Leh, Lengpui, Lilabari, It was operating from Pakyong, Pantnagar, Pithoragarh, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Rupsi, Shimla, Silchar, Srinagar and Tezu airports.
After this 28 more airports were added. These include Adampur (Jalandhar), Agra, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bareilly, Bhuj, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Goa, Gorakhpur, Hindon, Indore, Jaisalmer, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kanpur (Chakeri), Kolkata, Nashik, Pathankot, Patna, Prayagraj, Pune. , Rajkot, Tezpur, Trichy, Trivandrum, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.
Krishi Udan Yojana is a collaboration of eight ministries. These include the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the Ministry of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, the Ministry of Fisheries, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER).
Farmers that use the Udan Scheme to ship their harvests, vegetables, and other agricultural products. They are not required to pay any fees for sending it. Farmers, for example, are excluded from landing fees, parking fees, terminal navigation landing charges (TNLC), and route navigation facility charges (RNFC).
