Post Name and Vacancies for SMPK Recruitment 2023:

Applications are invited for the Post of General Manager (M & EE) / Chief General Manager (M & EE) and there is only one vacancy for the Post.

Qualification Required for SMPK Recruitment 2023:

Essential:

The candidate should hold a Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Naval Architecture from a recognized University/Institution or MEO 1^st class Motor certificate issued under Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.

15 years experience in a managerial capacity dealing with Mechanical/Electrical/Marine/ Electronics Engineering works, out of which 08 years experience will be in workshops undertaking maintenance of cargo handling equipment/electrical installations/ship repair in any Major Port Trust/Industrial/ Commercial/ Govt.undertaking.

Pay Scale for SMPK Recruitment 2023:

The incumbent will be initially appointed to the HoD post in the scale of pay of Rs. 1,00,000 – 2,60,000 (pre-revised Rs. 43,200 – 66,000) and after completion of three years of regular service in the post, he/she will be elevated to the scale of pay of Rs. 1,20,000 — 2,80,000 (pre-revised Rs. 51,300-73,000), subject to fulfilling the relevant conditions as per the Ministry’s guideline.

Tenure of Probation for SMPK Recruitment 2023:

The selected candidate will have to go through 2 years probation period.

How to Apply for SMPK Recruitment 2023:

According to SMKP Recruitment 2023 notification, applications of suitable and willing officers, satisfying the provisions of the Recruitment Rules for the post of Chief Mechanical Engineer, may please be submitted through the “Online Application Portal (OAP)” of the Ministry of Shipping website from 16.01.2023 to 16.02.2023.

Therefore, all the applicants, after registering themselves in the portal, are required to apply for the post through OAP, and thereafter, a printout of the filled-in application, along with the required documents may be sent in an envelope, through their Administrative Port, superscribing “Application for the post of Chief Mechanical Engineer”, so as to reach the Office of the Secretary, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, 15 Strand Road, Kolkata-700001 on or before 3rd March 2023.
