JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024: The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is a common entrance exam that is administered nationally to candidates wishing to enroll in undergraduate programs at various government and private engineering colleges in India.

The JEE Main 2024 eligibility requirements are available at jeemain.nta.nic.in, according to NTA. Eligibility Criteria of JEE Mains

Age Limit for JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024:

The age limit to appear in JEE Mains 2024 is not applicable to candidates. Regardless of age, applicants who passed the class 12 or equivalent exam in 2022, 2023, or who are appearing in 2024 are eligible to take the JEE Main Examination in 2024.

Qualification Needed for JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024:

To appear in JEE Main 2024, candidates must have passed any one of the following exams.

  • The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi; the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ISCE), New Delhi; and other approved Central/State Boards administer the final exam (10+2 system).
  • The National Defence Academy’s Joint Services Wing’s two-year course concludes with its final test.
  • The National Institute of Open Schooling conducts a Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of five topics.
  • The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognizes any public school, board, or university examination in India or any foreign country as equivalent to the 10+2 system.
  • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Vocational Exam.
  • A diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education that is at least three years long.
  • GCE Advanced (A) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka).
  • Cambridge University’s High School Certificate Examination or the International Baccalaureate Diploma administered by the International Baccalaureate Office in Geneva.
  • Candidates who finished the class 12 (or comparable) test outside of India or from a board other than those listed above must present a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) stating that the exam they passed was equivalent to the class 12 exam.
  • If the class 12 exam is not a public exam, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) exam previously.

Number of Attempts Need for JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024:

Eligible candidates for JEE Main 2024 are those who passed their class 12 exam in 2022 or 2023 or who are taking their class 12 test in 2024. The JEE Main 2024 eligibility conditions exclude candidates who passed their class 12 exam before 2021 or who plan to enroll in class 12 after 2024 from taking the exam. The dates of the JEE Mains in 2024 are set for January and April, respectively.

Admissions to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs for JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024:

  • Admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs: Students must have received a 75 % grade in their 12th grade to be eligible for the JEE Mains in 2024, or they must have placed in the top 20 percentile (65% for SC/ST candidates) on their class 12 exam.
  • JEE Main 2024 Admission (B.Arch/B.Planning): The candidate must have received the necessary qualification marks for JEE mains, or at least 50% of the total possible points, in their 10+2 or equivalent exam from an accredited board.

Subject Combinations for Admissions for JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024:

Applicants who wish to be admitted through JEE Mains 2024 into GFTIs, IIITs, and NITs must have passed the qualifying exam.

  • In B.Tech/B.E. programs, a minimum of one of the following topics must be taken: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Physics, and Math.
  • B.Arch: subjects in math, physics, and chemistry.
  • B. Planning: The individual in question needs to have passed the qualifying exam in mathematics.

Appearing in JEE Advanced for JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024:

The minimum cutoff marks set by NTA must be acquired by those who participated in JEE Main to be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced. In addition, to be eligible to compete in JEE Advanced 2024, candidates must rank in the top 250000 on the Common Rank List according to merit. One significant requirement is that students must be eligible to reappear for JEE Advanced twice, within two years of clearing the class 12 or equivalent examination.

  • The only requirement for enrolling in JEE Main 2024 is that candidates must pass class 12 and then appear in the exam three years in a row. There is no upper age limit.
  • No minimum percentage of marks in class 12 is required to appear in JEE Main in 2024.

Droppers for JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2024:

  • The qualifying requirements for JEE Main 2024 repeaters have no upper age limit.
  • Candidate needs to have graduated from high school in 2022, 2023, or 2024.
  • Candidates are permitted to take the JEE Main 2024 exam three times in a row.
  • For JEE Mains, students had to have received the minimum amount of qualifying marks.
  • For the class 12 or qualifying exam, candidates must have taken at least five subjects (Math, Chemistry, and Physics are required).
