CLAT Registration 2025: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 application period will commence today i.e., 15th July 2024, according to the Consortium of National Law Universities. Candidates can apply for CLAT 2025 by visiting the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in, for admission to undergraduate and graduate law programs offered by 22 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other collaborating institutions.

The applicant must submit their application form by 15th October 2024. The exam is scheduled for 1st December 2024 from 2 pm to 4 p.m. (or 2 pm to 4:40 p.m. for candidates with disabilities).

The national law universities that participate in the exam are those offering undergraduate and graduate admission to their legal programs.

Documents Required to Apply for CLAT 2025:

In order to register, candidates must provide a recent passport-sized photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), PWD certificate (if applicable), and domicile certificate.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2025:

Before submitting the CLAT application, candidates can review the qualifying requirements for both UG and PG courses as of CLAT 2025.

CLAT qualification for a five-year LLB program

  • The minimum percentage of marks that candidates must receive in their qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) is as follows:
  1. For applicants in the general, OBC, PWD, PIO, NRI, and overseas citizen (OCI) categories, the minimum passing percentage is 45 %, or the equivalent grade.
  2. For applicants in the SC and ST categories, 40% or the corresponding grade.

CLAT qualification for a course in LLM

  1. Candidates who fall under the General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, or OCI categories must possess a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or have passed an equivalent test with at least 50% of the possible points.
  2. Candidates from the SC and ST categories must receive at least 45% of the possible points or an equivalent grade.

Exam Pattern for CLAT 2025:

There will be 120 multiple-choice questions in the 2-hour CLAT UG exam, each worth one mark. For each incorrect response, there will be a 0.25 deduction from the score. The CLAT PG question paper will include questions on constitutional law and other areas of law, such as jurisprudence, family law, criminal law, property law, administrative law, the law of contracts, torts, company law, public international law, tax law, environmental law, labour and industrial law. The CLAT UG paper will include questions on the English language and current affairs, including general knowledge, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, and quantitative techniques.
