NEET Result Controversy 2024: NEET Aspirant Aanchal Claims Marks Reduction in a Week
NEET Result Controversy 2024: As the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test results 2024 are still up for debate, a Mumbai applicant by the name of Aanchal Pal has come up to claim that she took the exam twice and received two different scores for the same application.
In an interview with NDTV, Aanchal claimed to have checked her results on 4th June 2024 and discovered that she had received 566 points. Later, on 11th June 2024, she verified her results once more. According to her application, her score had dropped by 200 points, to 366.
The National Testing Agency responded to her claim by providing an explanation of the differences shown in her test result.
NTA Issues Explanation
An important dispute erupted over the NTA’s denial of Aanchal’s claims, which they described as “a video featuring Ms Aanchal Pal claiming that her marks have been reduced.” About the discrepancies in marks, scorecards, and answer keys, NTA explains that since OMR answer sheets are machine-gradable, marks cannot be changed. NTA posted on X.
The NTA also noted that “candidates are urged to solely rely on the official website of NTA, i.e. exams.nta.ac.in/NEET to download their score card and respective answer key and may refer the OMR answer sheet, which has already been sent on their registered email ID.”
“Further, any concerns can be addressed by emailing NTA with complete and correct details such as name, roll number, and application number, so that NTA can verify the matter with its records available,” it said.
The National Testing Agency notified the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that it would file a request to transfer all cases pertaining to the purported anomalies in the NEET-UG 2024 exam results to the Indian Supreme Court.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the Delhi High Court that the NTA would file a transfer petition with the highest court, explaining that the request was made to make sure that disagreements on the subject were resolved.
