MCA Appoints Ex-Officio Member in IBBI

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has recently issued a notification dated 7th July, 2025. As per this notification, under the powers given in section 189(1)(c) of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, the Central Government has appointed Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, the Law Secretary, as an ex-officio member of the  Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). Dr. Rana will represent the Ministry of Law & Justice on the Board.

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 is a law made by the Indian government to help deal with situations when individuals, companies, or partnership firms go Bankrupt. This law focuses on protecting the interests of various stakeholders, including creditors, debtors, and other parties.
