GST Council 56th Meeting: Who Are the Participants?

The GST Council’s 56th Meeting has already started at 11 am in New Delhi today (September 3, 2025) and is chaired by the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. In this meeting, the council members will discuss about major changes in GST rates.

Apart from the Finance Minister, the meeting is being attended by :

  • Union Minister of State for Finance, Shri Pankaj Chaudhary
  • Chief Ministers from Delhi, Goa, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya, and Odisha
  • Deputy Chief Ministers from Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana
  • The Governor of Manipur
  • Finance Ministers from various states and union territories
  • Senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC)

The GST council’s 56th meeting is also scheduled for tomorrow (September 4, 2025)
