First-Time ECGC Policy Holders Now Eligible For Export Credit Insurance Benefits under RELIEF
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued a new policy circular dated April 15, 2026, to clarify the eligibility of the new ECGC Whole Turnover Policy under the Export Promotion Mission (EPM).
Under Component II of the Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation (RELIEF), the exporters are encouraged to claim Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (ECGC) credit insurance cover. This insurance protects the Indian exporters while transporting goods to some affected countries in the Gulf and West Asia region.
As per the new clarification, exporters who get a new ECGC Whole Turnover Policy for the first time on or after March 16, 2026, will also be eligible for benefits under RELIEF.
All other rules of the earlier notification (Notification No. 65/2025-26) dated March 19, 2026, remain the same. No changes have been made except for this clarification.
