Aadhaar Update Made Easy: UIDAI Releases Accepted Documents List
The government has given people more time to update their Aadhaar details for free online. This is a big relief for those who have not yet uploaded or verified their documents linked to Aadhaar.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said that Aadhaar holders can continue using the free online document update service on the myAadhaar portal till June 14, 2027. Earlier, the last date for this free service was June 2026.
This means people can update important documents such as proof of identity and address online without paying any fee. The service is available only through the myAadhaar portal.
UIDAI also shared a post on social media 'X' regarding the enrolment update. UIDAI said, "To facilitate a seamless Aadhaar enrolment or update process, individuals may refer to the complete list of acceptable documents on Vikaspedia."
For Aadhaar enrolment and updates, UIDAI accepts certain documents to confirm a person’s identity, address, date of birth and relationship details. People applying for Aadhaar or making changes in their Aadhaar details must submit valid Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents as required by the UIDAI.
To facilitate a seamless Aadhaar enrolment or update process, individuals may refer to the complete list of acceptable documents on #Vikaspedia.
