AIPC offered Deep Condolences and Sympathies to Mrs. Augustine over loss of her Young Daughter

It has been days since the news of the death of a Young Chartered Accountant surfaced, who was working at EY India Company. The Whole Chartered Accountant Community was shattered by this news and now they are seeing how the young talent is been treated at their workplace and how they are continuously bearing the pressured environment.

A 26-year-old Chartered Accountant, Anna Sebastian Perayil, who worked at the international consulting firm Ernst & Young (EY) in Pune, died from “work stress,” as claimed by her mother, Anita Augustine.

Mrs. Augustine wrote a heartbreaking note on the loss of her beloved daughter and on the toxic work culture (the pressure that the young talent of today is facing nowadays at their workplace).

Now, AIPC offered deep condolences and sympathies to Mrs. Augustine in a telephonic conversation yesterday over her enormous loss of her young, ambitious chartered accountant daughter Anna.

In this letter, Chairman Praveen Chakravarty promises to champion the cause for better workplace conditions for professionals.

The Letter Read as Follows:

Dear Mrs. Augustine,

I am profoundly saddened to learn about the tragic loss of your beloved daughter, Anna Sebastian. The news of her passing has deeply affected many young working professionals and their parents across the nation. I extend my heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this incredibly difficult time.

Anna’s story is a stark reminder of the pressures faced by today’s young professionals in work environments. It is heartbreaking to learn that her enthusiasm and dedication to her new role at her firm were met with overwhelming demands that ultimately took her Ufe.

Your courageous decision to speak out about the toxic work culture that contributed to Anna’s death is commendable. It is essential for organisations to recognise the human cost of relentless workloads and to prioritise the mental and emotional well-being of their employees. Your words resonate with many young Indians who have witnessed similar struggles in their workplaces, and they serve as a powerful call for change.

As a former corporate professional and a parent of a 21-year-old girl, I can empathise with you to a certain extent. In 1ny capacity as the Chairman of All India Professionals’ Congress, I assure you that I will champion the cause for reforms in India’s corporate work culture. It is crucial that companies foster an atmosphere where individuals feel empowered to voice their concerns and seek help when needed.

No parent should have to endure the pain of losing a child, especially under such circumstances. I am hopeful that Anna’s legacy will inspire meaningful changes in corporate India, ensuring that no other family has to experience the grief you are facing now.

Please know that you are in our thoughts, and I stand with you in your pursuit of justice for Anna and all employees who deserve better treatment in their workplaces.
