On 9 June 2026 (Tuesday) in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, instructed authorities to make maximum use of technology and AI in order to enhance GST, other tax collections, and the administration of revenue in general.

Naidu ordered officials to prepare monthly economic reports to evaluate the State Gross Domestic Product (GSDP).

He said, “Fully utilise technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve GST and other tax collections, as well as overall revenue administration.”

He emphasised that using monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly statistical indicators, periodic economic reviews at the state and field levels would help in tracking advancement toward GSDP targets.

The CM further guided on reaching departmental KPIs for the fiscal year 2026–2027 at the state, district, and mandal levels during a review meeting on GSDP targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) at his camp office in Undavalli, Guntur district.

He also emphasised the importance of raising indicators that continue to fall short of the national average and bringing them into line with the performance benchmarks of top states.

Naidu also directed officials to implement a scoring system that assesses performance based on actual growth outcomes in addition to target achievement.

“Every rupee invested in infrastructure can generate economic activity up to 3.5 times,” Naidu said, highlighting the economic advantages of infrastructure spending. He also instructed the authorities to constitute an AI-powered task force to help in data-driven governance as part of the vision of Swarna Andhra-2047 (golden Andhra) and to monitor economic trends in real-time. The TDP chief called for concerted efforts to boost Gross Value Addition (GVA) in every industry.

He pointed out the necessity of leveraging manufacturing, mining, trade, transportation and major infrastructure projects like Amaravati, Polavaram, ports and airports to create a substantial multiplier effect on the state’s economy, the press release said.
