According to media reports, Pakistan has targeted Jammu with loitering munitions, and Indian Air Defence guns are firing back in retaliation and due to which a complete blackout has been enforced in several districts in Jammu, including Kathua of Jammu Division, and sirens are being heard in the region. Punjab govt orders closure of schools, colleges, universities for next 3 days.

In view of the war-like situation between India and Pakistan, the administration in Chandigarh and several areas of Punjab have announced the closure of all schools until May 10.

 

Schools in Panchkula, Haryana, will remain closed tomorrow (Friday) as a precautionary measure. The Delhi government has also cancelled all leave for its employees until further notice, citing the current situation and the need for readiness in emergency response. This action follows a directive issued by the Services Department late Thursday evening, which stated that no government official in Delhi will be granted leave due to the heightened alert and preparations for any potential emergencies. These measures come amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

Haryana Home Secretary Sumita Misra tweets, “All schools in Panchkula district will remain closed tomorrow and day after.

Students and parents are concerned about whether schools and colleges will open or close on Friday. Though there is no advisory from the authorities, except that of Punjab, Panchkula, Chandigarh. Parents and students are advised to be alert for any unexpected incident.
