Assam GST Department Conducts Overnight Searches at Multiple Bharatiya Jalpan Outlets in Guwahati Over Suspected Five-Year Financial Irregularities:

The Assam State GST Department carried out an overnight search operation at several outlets of popular food business Bharatiya Jalpan in Guwahati over suspected financial irregularities in its accounts over the past five years.

A team of GST officials, along with police personnel, searched the establishment's branches in Christian Basti, Fancy Bazar near Railway Gate No. 3 and Kumarpara. The team's search also covered the company's factory in Amingaon.

The operation continued throughout the night, with officials spending several hours at the Christian Basti outlet. During the searches, officials reportedly seized electronic devices and collected documents and other records from the locations.

Employees and representatives of Bharatiya Jalpan were also asked to cooperate with the officials during the operation.

The searches were reportedly carried out over suspected irregularities in the establishment's accounts over the last five years. However, officials have not yet confirmed the exact nature of the suspected violations or the amount of tax involved.
