Overview:

Ford is hiring an experienced Connectivity & cyber security Engineer at their Chennai location. This newly created position supports the vehicle programs that are manufactured and imported into IMG region and contributes to further upskilling SE&SE IMG. This role would suit a candidate with a strong interest in telecoms / connectivity and vehicle driver assistance technology and intelligent transport systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Ideal Candidate should be able to:

Some of the key responsibilities of the successful candidate are,

Understand Ford corporate strategy & make vehicle regulatory engagement plans for IMG

Business Environment Overview: Gather, Review Filter and share Regulatory / Policy news articles from several sources.

Understand the regulatory movement & track BEO for key strategic markets to develop regulatory road map

Support development of regulatory engagement plan

Analyze and communicate environment and safety & regulatory change proposals internally in a timely manner using corporate systems.

Develop and communicate Ford regulatory responses to the relevant government agencies in International Market Group

Regulatory assessment / Interpretation, Publish internal regulatory documents (Regulatory Records (RR)/Regulatory Change Notices (RCN)).

Interface to product feature teams to develop a deep understanding of existing and new features / technologies

Work with Govt. Affairs and PD to align on the corporate policies for import / export. Etc

Work with legal (OGC) for issues related new technologies

Monitor and track key telecom related regulations affecting vehicle connectivity, modems, roaming agreements, carrier services, technology migrations such as 2G/3G/4G/5G and their national implementation plans; track network technology switch off plans by different countries in the region

Work with Sales Planning the necessary registration issues arising thru’ vehicle regulations.

Involves timely support & providing robust direction to programs & engineering teams on vehicle regulatory, Environment, Safety Policy, Regulatory, Public Domain, E-call topics.

Eligibility:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Science in ECE, Telecommunication Engg, Software Engg

Preferred 4+ years of experience working in product development / Quality / Program

Strong verbal and written communication skills – required to interface with colleagues across IMG, EU and North America. Demonstrated good interpersonal skills

Strong analytical, strategy, planning, and problem-solving skills

Candidates should be flexible with work hours due to time differences between various markets. Hybrid models depending upon local work policies

Self-learner in vehicle connectivity and intelligent transport systems technology related application development best practices and trends.

Demonstrated Ability to work on own and within teams

Experienced in working in a cross functional environment

Knowledgeable in complete MS Office and MS Team, including email

Track and disseminate connectivity regulations on IoT, Communications, Supplier approval actions, national equipment type approvals, renewals procedures, licensing requirements.
