Only a few days remain until the next financial year 2022-23 begins. Banks will be closed for 15 days in its debut month, April. Banks will be closed for 9 days in various parts of the country according to the list released by the RBI. Aside from these, banks will be closed on four Sundays and two Saturdays.

The first day of the month, April 1, is a bank holiday due to the yearly shutting of bank accounts, which falls on a weekend. Because April 1 falls on a Friday, bank branches may be closed for a total of three days due to the long weekend.

Except for Aizawl, Chandigarh, Shillong, and Shimla, all bank branches will be closed on April 1.

Due to Gudi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/1st Navratra/Telugu New Year’s Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba, banks in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, and Srinagar will be closed on April 2. (Cheiraoba).

On April 4, banks in Ranchi, Jharkhand’s capital, will be closed for Sarhul Festival. Due to Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birthday, banks in Hyderabad will be closed the next day i.e April 5.

Due to two holidays on the 14th and 15th, followed by a weekend, ads by The Bank functioning in the next week will be abbreviated. While Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/Mahavir Jayanti/Baisakhi/Vaisakhi/Tamil New Year’s Day/Cheiraoba/Biju Festival/Bohag Bihu will be observed on April 14, Good Friday/Bengali New Year’s Day (Nababarsha)/Himachal Day/Vishu/Bohag Bihu will be observed on April 15.

Except for banks in Shillong, Shimla (April 14), and Jaipur, Jammu, and Srinagar (April 15), all other bank branches would be closed on the RBI’s schedule of holidays.

Bank branches in Guwahati and Agartala will be closed on April 16 and April 21, respectively, for Bohag Bihu, and Gadiya Puja.

Due to Shab-I-Qadr/Jumat-ul-Vida, banks in Jammu and Srinagar will be closed on April 29, according to the RBI list.

State-specific festivals, religious holidays, and festival celebrations are all included in the RBI’s list of holidays.
