Bank Holidays December 2025: Check List of Bank Holidays Across India for December 2025
As December 2025 approaches, it is important to know about the official bank holidays falling in the month. During these holidays, customers cannot access services like cheque clearing and over-the-counter services. However, the services can be accessed using mobile banking, UPI, net banking and ATMs.
Under the RBI holiday calendar, the month of December brings several public and regional holidays for the banks across India. It is important to note that bank holidays are not the same across the country. They differ from state to state, which means that on certain dates, some banks may be closed in some states, while others will remain open as usual. Let us see the list of holidays in December 2025.
December 01: Banks will remain shut in Itanagar and Kohima for the State Inauguration Day/Indigenous Faith Day.
December 03: The banks in Panaji will be closed on the occasion of the Feast of St Francis Xavier.
December 07 (Sunday): All banks across the country will be closed.
December 12: Banks in Shillong will be closed on this day for the death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma.
December 13 (Second Saturday): All banks across the country will be closed.
December 14 (Sunday): All banks across the country will be closed.
December 21 (Sunday): All banks across the country will be closed.
December 18: The banks will remain shut in Shillong for the death anniversary of U SoSo Tham.
December 19: Banks will be closed in Panaji for the Goa Liberation Day.
December 20: In Gangtok, the banks will be closed on the occasion of Losoong/Namsoong.
December 22: The banks will be closed in Gangtok only for Losoong/Namsoong.
December 24: The banks in Aizawl, Kohima, and Shillong will be closed for the occasion of Christmas Eve.
December 25: All banks will be closed across the country for Christmas.
December 26: The banks in Aizawl, Kohima, and Shillong will be closed for Christmas celebrations.
December 27: Banks will be closed in Kohima for Christmas.
December 30: The banks in Shillong will remain shut for the death anniversary of U Kiang Nangbah.
December 31: The banks will remain shut in Aizawl and Imphal for the celebration of New Year’s Eve/Imoinu Iratpa.
