Breaking: GSTN Advisory for time limit for Reporting E-Invoices on IRP Portal

The government has decided to set a deadline for taxpayers with Annual Aggregate Turnover (AATOs) higher than or equal to Rs. 100 crores to disclose old invoices on the e-invoice IRP portals.

Taxpayers in this category will not be permitted to record GST invoices that are more than 7 days old on the reporting date in order to guarantee timely compliance.

Please be aware that there will be no time limit on reporting debit/credit notes; this restriction will only apply to document types that are invoices.

An invoice with an April 1, 2023 date, for instance, cannot be reported after April 8, 2023. The user will be unable to report the invoice after the 7-day limit thanks to the validation system embedded into the invoice registration portal. Therefore, it is crucial for taxpayers to make sure that they disclose the invoice within the new time limit’s seven-day deadline.

It is also clarified that, as of right now, taxpayers having AATOs less than Rs. 100 crores will not be subject to this reporting restriction.

We recommend starting implementation on May 1, 2023, to provide taxpayers enough time to comply with this obligation, which might call for modifications to your systems.
