Budget 2024 Live: Know Latest Union Budget Updates

As Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman prepares to announce the sixth Budget of her tenure, here’s a quick guide to where and how to watch live coverage of the financial year 2024-2025 budget.

Ms. Sitharaman will set a record by presenting the sixth budget in a row – five annual and one interim – a feat previously accomplished only by former Prime Minister Morarji Desai.

Ms. Sitharaman will beat the records of her predecessors, including Manmohan Singh, Arun Jaitley, P. Chidambaram, and Yashwant Sinha, who presented five budgets in a row. Desai served as Finance Minister from 1959 to 1964, presenting five annual budgets and one interim budget.

Ms. Sitharaman’s interim Budget 2024-25, which will be announced on February 1, will be a vote-on-account, allowing the government to spend specified amounts of money until the next government takes power following the April-May general elections.

The presentation, which is scheduled on Thursday, February 1, at 11 a.m. in the Lok Sabha, will include budgetary allocations and revenue forecasts for the financial year 2024-25. Following the lower house speech, the Budget materials will be introduced in Rajya Sabha.

Where to watch the Live Coverage of Budget

To watch the live streaming of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman‘s Budget address, go to Sansad TV, the television channel dedicated to parliamentary proceedings. The speech will also be broadcast on Doordarshan’s news channel, DD News. The government will also broadcast a live telecast via its video platform Webcast.

Budget Documents

Budget 2024 documents are available in “paperless form” via the Union Budget Mobile App. All necessary Budget documents, including the Annual Financial Statement, Demand for Grants, and Finance Bill required by the Constitution, will be available following the Budget speech.

The bilingual app, which is accessible in English and Hindi, may be downloaded from Android, iOS, or the Union Budget Web Portal.
