CA Exams May 2024: 4.36 lakh students to appear for CA Foundation, Intermediate and Final

A whopping number of 4.36 lakh students will appear for CA Foundation, Intermediate and Final Exams May 2024. This is the highest number of students appearing for exams in 75 years of history of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Meanwhile, it has been announced that the CA Foundation and CA Intermediate Exams will be held 3 times in a year and the CA Final Exam will continue to be held 2 times in a year. Instead on May/June and November, the CA Foundation and CA Intermediate Exams will be now held in January, May/June, and September. However, Exams for the Final will continue to take place in May and November only. This was decided in the meeting of the Institute held on Thursday. Further updates will be clarified by ICAI Soon.

The decision taken by the institute will benefit students who have completed their study period to appear for the exam without waiting for 2 months. Globally the frequency of examinations is increasing so as to give more opportunities to the students. ICAI was aligning itself to the global practices. This has been done to make sure that the young students are encouraged to pursue the course of Chartered Accountancy.

Currently, ICAI has 4 Lakh Members and 8.5 Lakh students. As per the ICAI President, the country needs 30 Lakhs Chartered Accountants (CAs) in the year 2047, when India will be among the developed nations.
