Canada Slaps Infosys with Rs 82 Lakh Penalty for Alleged Underpaymet of Tax IT company Infosys Got Hit with a more than 1.34 Canadian dollars (which is Rs 82 Lakh) Fine by Canadian government for Alleged underpaymet of tax for supposedly not paying enough employee health tax for the year ending on December 31, 2020, according to a regulatory filing. Infosys received an order from Canada finance ministry on May 9 The penalty was imposed for alleged underpayment of Employee Health Tax for the year which is ended December 31, 2020.The filing mentioned a penalty of 1,34,822.38 Canadian dollars imposed on the company. Infosys stated that this penalty won't have a significant impact on its financials, operations, or other activities.
