CAT 2024: All Information You Need to Know About Changes This Year
CAT 2024: The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 registration period was opened on 1st August and the application deadline is 23rd September. The exam is planned for 24th November throughout 170 test cities, and the admit card will be accessible starting on 5th November. Candidates who meet the requirements and are interested can register at iimcat.ac.in, the official website. The exam will be given this year in IIM Calcutta. Those having a bachelor’s degree and at least 50% overall (45% for those in reserved categories) are qualified to apply for the examination.
The examination fee has been increased to Rs. 2500 for general category applicants (up from Rs.2400) and Rs.1250 for reserved category candidates (up from Rs.1200), per the official statement. Furthermore, the CAT exam will now be administered in 170 cities instead of only 167. This year, candidates can only select five cities, down from the previous year’s maximum of six.
Three sections will make up the CAT exam: quantitative aptitude, verbal and reading comprehension, and data interpretation and logical thinking. With a total score of 198 marks, the 2024 CAT question paper will consist of two different question types: multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and type-in-the-answer (TITA).
More than 1,000 MBA schools, including 21 IIMs, accept CAT scores from students pursuing an MBA. FMS Delhi, SJMSoM IIT Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, DoMS IIT Delhi, and SPJIMR Mumbai are notable non-IIM B-schools.
