CAT (IIM) Entrance Exam 2021 will be held Tomorrow; Guidelines for CAT Aspirants

Tomorrow, Sunday, November 28, the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021, the entrance exam for admission to some of the country’s top business institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), will be held. The exam will be held in three shifts: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with findings expected in the second week of January 2022. A total of 2.31 lakh people have enrolled for the CAT 2021 exam.

This is a computer-based exam (CBT). The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability components of the CAT 2021 question paper are divided into three categories (QA).

Here are a few things to keep in mind for CAT 2021 aspirants.

  • Candidates will have 40 minutes to answer each question. Each session will be extended by 13 minutes and 20 seconds for PwD applicants.
  • Some of the questions in the CAT 2021 exams will be multiple-choice (MCQs), while others will not.
  • In the exam, candidates are not permitted to use actual calculators. They can utilise the virtual calculators for any computation.
  • Candidates will have three alternatives after answering the questions: Save and Next, Clear Response, and Mark for Review and Next. Before beginning to answer the paper, carefully read the directions.
  • “To ensure fairness and equity in comparison of candidates’ achievements across multiple exam sessions,” CAT scores will be normalised. This will account for “differences in score distributions across different forms in terms of location and magnitude.” The scores will be normalised further across parts, and the percentiles will be calculated as a result of this process.
