Caterer cheats CA of Rs. 28 lakh by promising wedding package A chartered accountant who is 29  years old and from Kandivali filed a cheating case against a caterer who offered to organize an entire wedding for the complainant at a Malad resort but then vanished with his money. The complainant, according to the FIR, went to a hotel in Malad to order a three-day and two-night wedding package. When he asked about the food, the manager sent him to the caterer. The complainant went to the Kandivali caterer's office. The caterer assured him that he could provide a complete service that included a hotel stay, decoration, food, and a canopy. The complainant made a payment of Rs 28.6 lakh. Later, after contacting the hotel, he discovered that the caterer had secured dates for the wedding but had not made any payments to the hotel. The caterer had closed his office and left. Later, he discovered that one of his acquaintances had also been cheated out of Rs 39 lakh by the caterer. They went to the Kandivali police station, and an FIR was filed against the caterer for defrauding them collectively of Rs 67 lakh.
