CBI arrested Dy. CMM of East Central Railway and 2 Private Persons in a Bribery Case of Rs.2 Lakh The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Deputy Chief Materials Manager (IRSS-2012) of the Indian railway and two others from Hazipur in Bihar in connection with a Rs. 2 lakh in a case of bribery. According to the officials, the case was registered against a Dy. CMM, East Central Railway, Hajipur, Bihar and others, including a peon and private person or representatives of private companies, on the allegations that the accused had a habit of receiving illegal gratification from East Central Railway (ECR) contractors in exchange for granting tenders in their favour. Furthermore, it was accused that the bribe money was being paid on behalf of the private company through a network of well-connected people and firms in Tamil Nadu that were allegedly given favour throughout the tender process. The CBI captured Dy, Chief Material Manager, red-handed while receiving an undue advantage of Rs. 2 lakh from a peon through the trap laid by the CBI. The investigations were conducted in eight different places in Bihar including Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Punjab. As a result, many incriminating documents and mobile phones were found. After being brought before the competent court, the apprehended accused were placed in judicial custody.
