CBI Arrests a Junior Engineer of MES in a Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested a Junior Engineer(E&M)-1 working in the office of Garrison Engineer, MES, Jaipur(Rajasthan) for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the Complainant.

A complaint was filed against a Junior Engineer(E&M)-1 working in the Office of the Garrison Engineer, MES, Jaipur and a Manager(HR) of a private company based in NOIDA (Uttar Pradesh) on allegations of taking undue advantage of the Complainant’s salary in exchange for continuing his services on a contract basis.

It was further claimed that the Complainant (a Contractual Employee) of a NOIDA-based private company was working as an Electrician Helper at Military Engineering Services (MES), Jaipur and was paid for his services. It was also claimed that the Junior Engineer (E&M), MES, in collusion with the Manager (HR) of said private company, demanded a bribe of Rs.26,000/- and agreed to accept Rs.16,000/- as the first installment from Complainant’s salary for continuing his services and further contract in MES.

The CBI set a trap for the JE(E&M) and caught him red-handed seeking and taking an excessive advantage of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant as the first instalment. Searches were carried out at the premises of the accused in 05 locations, including Jaipur, Sriganganagar, Ghaziabad, and NOIDA. This resulted in the recovery of Rs.3,00,000/- (approximately) as well as other incriminating documents from the alleged JE’s premises.

The accused will be produced today before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jaipur.
