CBI arrests a Revenue Inspector in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Revenue Inspector, Jammu Cantonment Board for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1 lakh from the Complainant.

According to a complaint, the accused was allegedly demanding a two lakh rupee bribe. Additionally, it was claimed that the complainant had lived inside Jammu Cantonment since 1991. The Jammu Cantonment Board issued an eviction order to the complainant’s mother on August 23, 2023.

It was also alleged that the accused demanded bribe of Rs. Two lakh from the Complainant, for not evicting the Complainant from the residential quarter and for making allotment entry in the name of his mother, in the records.

Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused, which resulted in the recovery of cash totaling approximately Rs.6.50 lakh and property documents. The CBI set a trap and caught the accused while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.1 lakh from the Complainant.

The arrested accused is being produced before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jammu.
