CBI arrests an Assistant Engineer of AIIMS for accepting Bribe The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested an Assistant Engineer working in All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), New Delhi for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.20,000 from the Complainant. CBI register a case against Assistant Civil Engineer of Engineering Service Department, AIIMS, New Delhi alleging demanding bribe of Rs.20000 from the complainant, (who is a contractor). He asked for bribe in return to approve additional item and make entries in the Measurement Book for the maintenance work being carried out by him. The culprit was apprehended by the CBI after they set up a trap and demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused. The defendant was presented to the appropriate court in Delhi and sent to judicial custody until May 11, 2023. In a another instance, the CBI has detained a Head Constable and an Assistant Sub Inspector in connection with a Rs.1 lakh bribe. On April 27, 2023, a complaint was filed against the defendant on the grounds that he allegedly demanded a bribe from the complainant in order to conceal her husband's involvement in a cybercrime. Today, the Delhi-based competent court is seeing the arrested suspects.
