CBI arrests Assistant Divisional Engineer for accepting Bribe Of Rs.1.80 Lakh The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Divisional Engineer (South), Central Railway, Nagpur, for demanding and receiving a bribe of Rs.1.80 Lakh from the complainant. A case was filed against the Assistant Divisional Engineer (South), Central Railway, Nagpur, on the basis of a complaint alleging a bribe demand of Rs.1,80,000/- for passing the invoices of the complainant's firm. It was further claimed that the accused demanded a bribe of 2% of the entire bill of the complainant's firm, amounting to Rs.89.55 lakh (approx), which was outstanding with him. The CBI set a trap and apprehended the accused while seeking and taking a bribe of Rs.1,80,000/- from the complainant. Searches were performed at the accused's residence, resulting in the recovery of Rs.60.62 Lakh (estimated) in cash and other incriminating papers. The accused will be brought before the Competent Court in Nagpur today.
