CBI arrests Branch Manager of Punjab National Bank in Bribery Case The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested a Branch Manager and a Field Officer, both working in Punjab National Bank, Khekra, Bagpat(Uttar Pradesh) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.25,000 from the Complainant. On July 31, 2023, a complaint was filed against a Branch Manager and a Field Officer of the Punjab National Bank at Khekra, Bagpat (Uttar Pradesh). It was stated that the Complainant had a KCC account in Punjab National Bank, Khekra, Bagpat, jointly in his name and in the name of his grandpa. It was further alleged that a sum of Rs.4.95 lakh was sanctioned in the abovementioned KCC account and disbursed in the saving bank account. The Branch Manager was also accused of putting a Rs.50,000 deposit in the same saving bank on hold. When the complainant enquired about it with the Branch Manager and Field Officer, both originally requested a bribe of Rs.35,000 to release the aforementioned sum. The bribe was afterwards lowered to Rs.25,000. The CBI set up a trap and apprehended the accused while seeking and taking a bribe of Rs.25,000 from the complainant. Searches were done at both of the accused's homes. Both the arrested accused will be produced before the Designated Court.
