CBI arrests Delhi Police Sub-Inspector for accepting bribe of Rs.20000
The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) arrested a Sub-inspector of the Sagarpur Police Station in Delhi while seeking and taking a bribe of Rs.20,000 from the complainant.
A complaint was filed against the stated Sub-Inspector, who was assigned to the Sagarpur Police Station in Delhi. The accused allegedly requested a bribe of Rs.1 lakh from the complainant in exchange for not arresting him and his relatives in another case reported at the same police station. The accused agreed to accept an initial bribe of Rs.20,000 from the complainant after some haggling.
The CBI set a trap for the abovementioned Sub Inspector and caught him red-handed while seeking and taking a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from the complainant. Searches were carried out on the accused's premises.
The investigation is still ongoing.
