The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Deputy Director-level officer of the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) and two private individuals, including a Delhi-based advocate, in a corruption case linked to an investigation into the DHFL scam being handled by the SFIO in Chennai.
According to the CBI, the accused allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1 crore from the complainant in exchange for favouring him in the ongoing investigation. The case was registered against the SFIO officer, the advocate and others following allegations of corruption.
