The Cantonment Board headquarters in Karnataka, Belagavi, was searched on Saturday by CBI officials amid allegations of large-scale misappropriation during the recruitment of 19 people roughly two years ago.
According to sources, Cantonment Board Chief Executive Officer K Anand and other officials of the local body under the Ministry of Defence were interrogated by CBI officers over the recruitment of clerks and stenographers.
CBI agents from New Delhi and Bengaluru conducted a joint raid on the office located at Camp in the city’s core, where the CBI team was commanded by Deputy Director Samiulla, according to sources.
