CBI Register a Case against Former CMD of WAPCOS for allegation of possessing Disproportionate Assets
The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has registered a case against former CMD, Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited (WAPCOS, a Govt of India Undertaking under Ministry of Jal Shakti) and his family members on the allegations that the accused during the tenure from 01.04.2011 to 31.03.2019 had possessed disproportionate assets way beyond his known sources of income.
It was further claimed that after leaving the service, the accused established a consultancy firm in the name of a private corporation situated in Delhi. The accused's claimed immovable properties include flats, commercial buildings, and a farm house located across Delhi, Gurugram, Panchkula, Sonipat, and Chandigarh.
Searches were conducted today around at 19 locations across Delhi, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Sonipat & Ghaziabad at the premises of accused which led to recovery of huge cash of Rs.20 crore(approx), large quantity of jewelry, valuable items & incriminating documents.
The investigation is still ongoing.
