CBI has lodged a case against then Superintendent, Bond Section, Jawaharlal Nehru Customs House, Raigad (Maharashtra), and others, including two private entities situated in Goregaon and Thane, as well as unknown others.

CBI registers Case against Ex-Customs Superintendent and 2 Private Firms; Conducts Searches The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has lodged a case against then Superintendent, Bond Section, Jawaharlal Nehru Customs House (JNCH), Raigad (Maharashtra), and others, including two private entities situated in Goregaon and Thane, as well as unknown others. CBI and JNCH officials previously performed a joint surprise check at the Bond Section of JNCH, Raigad. It was claimed that a redemption fine/ penalty of Rs. 9,56,000 and Rs. 4,96,000 was levied against two bills of entry belonging to the aforementioned private entities, and that the commodities covered by these two bills of entry were held by Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU). It was was further alleged that both private companies conspired with the said Superintendent, Bond Section, JNCH, Raigad, and others by paying undue advantage and managed to get delivery of the goods covered by these 02 Bills of Entry without paying the due fine/penalty, causing loss to the Government Exchequer. Searches were carried out at the accused's homes in Navi Mumbai, Noida, Sitapur, Goregaon, and Thane. Probe is still ongoing.
