CBIC extends the Anti-Profiteering Authority’s tenure by one year
The Anti-Profiteering Authority’s term has been extended by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) from four to five years. This tenure has been extended by one year.
The Central Goods and Services Tax (Ninth Amendment) Rules, 2021, have been published by the Board and seek to update the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017.
The words “four years” must be substituted with the terms “five years” in rule 137 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, which related to the Tenure of Anti-Profiteering Authority, with effect from November 30, 2021.
In addition, after the words “or statement” in the heading of FORM GST DRC-03, the words, characters, and figures “or indication of tax ascertained using FORM GST DRC-01A” shall be placed. For the words, letters, figures, and brackets “Audit, inspection or investigation, voluntary, SCN, annual return, reconciliation statement, scrutiny, intimation of tax ascertained through FORM GST DRC-01A, Mismatch (Form GSTR-1 and Form GSTR-3B), Mismatch (Form GSTR-2B and Form GSTR-3B), others (specify)” in column (3), the words, letters, figures, and brackets “Audit, inspection or investigation, voluntary, S The words, letters, numbers, and brackets “, scrutiny, indication of tax ascertained using Form GST DRC-01A, audit, inspection or investigation, others (specify)” shall be written below the word and figures “within 30 days of its issuing” in column (1).
