CBSE Board Date sheet 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is soon anticipated to publish the Board Classes 10th and 12th Annual Datesheet 2025 in December. The datesheet will be published on the official website of CBSE i.e., cbse.nic.in. CBSE has confirmed through official notification that CBSE Board classes 10th and 12th annual examinations for the academic year 2024-25 will begin on 15 February 2025.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has scheduled the Practical Examinations/IA for classes 10th and 12th to be conducted from 01 January 2025.

As per the media reports, students must note that this year CBSE has introduced some significant changes to the Board Class 10th and 12th Annual exams pattern according to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which is more focused on competency-based learning. As per the exam pattern this year, in the class 10th question paper, 50 % of the questions will be competency-based based same as last year. However, for class 12th proportion has been increased from 40% to 50% for the year 2025. These types of questions can come in any form in the exam such as Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), case-based, and source-based integrated questions.

Additionally, by decreasing the focus on memorization, the updated exam style for 2025 encourages students to understand the material more thoroughly. As a result, both the Class 10 and Class 12 exams will have a significantly lower amount of constructed response questions, such as short and long-answer questions.

The CBSE Class 10th and 12th Practical exams in Winter-Bond schools are scheduled to be held from November 5, 2024, to December 5, 2024. However practical exams for normal CBSE schools will commence on January 01, 2025.

The official notification reads, “The Practical Examinations/ IA for class X and XIl and the Board’s Annual Theory Examinations are scheduled to start w.e.f. 01/01/2025 and 15/02/2025 respectively.”

The CBSE has published Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) and a set of recommendations for these institutions to follow when administering the Practical Examinations/IA and Board Annual Theory Examinations for Classes X and XII.

Incorrect marking of students’ practical, project, and internal assessments has been observed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Therefore, in order to help schools organize the theory exams and practical/project/internal assessments with ease, CBSE has supplied a comprehensive list of courses for both classes 10 and 12 that includes the following information:

  • Class
  • Subject Code
  • Subject Name
  • Maximum Marks Theory Examination
  • Maximum Marks Practical Examination
  • Maximum Marks Project Assessment
  • Maximum Marks Internal Assessment (IA)
  • Whether External Examiner will be appointed for practical/project assessment
  • Whether Practical Answer Book will be provided by the Board – Type of Answer Book that will be used in Theory Examinations

In addition to announcing the dates for the annual and practical exams, CBSE has also made the subject-by-subject mark distribution for classes 10 and 12 public. All schools have been advised by CBSE to carefully assign grades to students based on their performance. Avoid making mistakes while uploading students’ practical marks because they cannot be changed once they are submitted. However, these grades have a significant impact on students’ overall achievement.

According to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), each subject can receive up to 100 (one hundred) marks, with the distribution of marks into theory, practical, project, and IA components given in the details mentioned.

For the effective study, CBSE has updated Class 10th and 12th Sample Papers on its academic website, cbse.nic.in. These sample papers provide details on marking schemes, exam patterns, and frequently asked questions in board exams. Our website studycafe has uploded direct links to download the sample papers of each subject in classes 10th and 12th.
