CBSE Important Announcement: No Changes to Existing Curriculum, Textbooks Except for Class 3 and 6 for Academic Year 2024-25

CBSE made an important announcement on X (Formerly Twitter) regarding the changes in the existing curriculum or textbooks. CBSE made it very clear that there are no changes made to the existing curriculum except for class 3 and 6. Regarding that, CBSE also released a circular On march 22, 2024 Stating that there is no such changes made to the Secondary and senior schools curriculum for the session 2024-25 and only the new text Books are published by NCERT for classes 3 and 6. CBSE once again instructor all the schools to continue using the same textbooks for all the classes except class 3 and 6 as they did in the previous academic year 2023-24.

In the circular that was released on March 22, 2024 by CBSE which stated that CBSE provides the annual curriculum for classes 9th to 12th containing academic content syllabus for examinations with learning outcomes , pedagogical practices, and assessment guidelines. CBSE also stated that it is important for all the schools to ensure adherence to the curriculum directives outlined in the initial pages of the curriculum document. All the subjects should be taught in accordance with the prescribed curriculum and with all methodologies. Schools are advised to align their practices with the recommendations stated in NCF-SE-2023 with the adoption of national curriculum framework for school education by CBSE. NCERT informed CBSE about the new syllabus and textbooks for grades 3 and 6 and released the same for the academic session 2024-25. For this CBSE advised all the schools to follow the new syllabus and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 in place of textbooks that were published till the year 2023.

Hence, CBSE has once again informed that there is no change in the curriculum and textbooks for other classes except 3 and 6 for the academic year 2024-25 which commenced from April 1, 2024. All the schools and students are advised or requested to see the curriculum available on the website of CBSE and check the curriculum for all the classes that is uploaded on the official website of CBSE.
